When the cinematographer of Unleashed and The Transporter and director 13th District pairs up with Luc Besson's story writing skills, one has to raise an eyebrow or two. After a thorough watch, I must say I was quite impressed with Pierre Morel's progression as a director. Taken is an edge of your seat thriller that's brilliantly executed and leaves you wanting more. A concoction definitely worth noting, though being not as memorable as Leon the Professional, should remain at the top of the list of anyone's popcorn movie Netflix queue. 8.9/10.
