A Visual Essay on Creative Workspaces
More plants. Defined walkways. Big lighting. More art. Bright pops of color. The new EffectiveUI space, a work in progress.
Opposition Now
I'm not usually one to encourage an uprising, but after seeing how much power certain industries can have over a technological age that's literally lapping them in bounds... I must say this: "Get a grip, people."
And there's no denying that the freedom of the Internet has brought forth something that no one had ever expected; the birth of a cyber-country that doesn't discriminate, but celebrates our differences. An Internet that numbers in the billions - enriching knowledge to the masses at an unprecedented scale. Where sharing is truly caring, and no one takes injustice lightly.
I do worry about the powers that attempt to control it, however. These are not men, but corporate entities who do not care - they do not love. Empathy is the beating heart of the Internet and innovation is powered by the billions of minds that interact with it, hoping to achieve what was once impossible. If anything, I would argue that the Internet is already one of man's greatest triumphs in my lifetime. We just need to make sure its inevitable dilution by the struggling powers that be don't change the way our children experience it in the future.

In the end, I simply wanted to travel with you. Pack some cameras in my bags. Then dance the night away.

Voices
Via Pen.io:
You know that ringing sound that you will perceive when you are in a very quiet area? Some people say this is an auditory-illusion brought about the ear’s inability to detect frequencies below the threshold of the human senses. This is completely wrong. That ringing covers up something else altogether. If you are quick, patient, and maybe a little lucky, you will be able to hear past the ringing. What you will hear are voices whispering to each other. They will silence themselves quickly but with practice, you will become more adept at catching and interpreting what they are saying. You will hear things of the past, the present, and the future. However, you must be careful. Because there is no such thing as a voice without a body.
And when you start noticing them, they will start noticing you.

Denver's Lack of Street Art
Given the number of ex-graffiti artists I've met since moving into Denver, I'm thoroughly disappointed at the lack of good street art. I'm not saying we should start suddenly begin painting murals over the MOCA, but it would be nice if I could see a couple of lovely street pieces just biking to work.
Big ups to Sandi Calistro for recently throwing up here piece on the City O City wall.

No Friendzone for You
I hate friendzone. It is a terrible place. Promise you'll never take me there.

Cues From the Atrium House by MESH
Remember when I told you I had a plan for an outdoor atrium of sorts in my dream house? I think I've found the perfect example. This Brooklyn abode has the perfect courtyard design that I'm looking for - simply urban and chic to the core... and all that glass certainly makes Anthony a happy kid.
