Sometimes the simplest ideas just work. Above, one of my favorites (Rosalyn Custom Totes) from Brent Couchman.

White Floors as Light Magnets
For one, they bring ample amounts of light in. Sucks if you're not a morning person (like me), but I do appreciate having natural night fill my room up on a daily basis. More here.

Sporty vs. Classic
Seems to me that any type of casual "sportswear" released these days seem to lean towards timeless classicism more than ever. Not that it's a bad thing. I actually find it pretty slick. Above: Shirt by adidas ObyO, sunglasses by Retro Superfuture, shorts by Stussy, hat by United Arrows, jacket by Wings + Horns, shoes by Oliver Spencer for Topman. Via Definitive Touch.

Elite Squad Review
Every once in a while, you'll stumble upon a movie that tackles a harsh issue such as the reality of crime, drugs, and uncontrollable corruption in Rio de Janeirowith with such mind-boggling eloquence. Shot like a documentary, but cinematically on par, if not superior, with the frantic visual direction as seen in City of God, the movie can only be described as a violent masterpiece, balancing some of the best story-telling, acting, and emotional engagement I have experienced in a very long time. Highly recommended. 8.9/10.

Bianchi Gods and Monsters
If you didn't know, I have this sick obsession with Bianchi bikes. For me, they're beautiful, timeless pieces that only the likes of Eames can top. Now, as the hipsters have gotten a hold of them - modifying every aspect of it until it no longer resembles its original form - I find myself getting hooked even more by the sheer brilliance of their designs and boundless creativity.
I've taken a few hours and rounded up the sexiest mods I could find using the Pista and Pista Concept frame by Bianchi. I have a feeling if you've appreciated anything in my blog from the past few days, this should make your weekend.

Miles Piercy's Plug
As I've eluded to in the past, Charge makes damn good fixies. Miles Piercy takes it up a notch and introduces a silver, white and red color scheme to his Charge Plug. Front white Aerospokes, Profile Airwing aerobars, and MKS pedals and straps finish up the setup.

Octave Z from Lausanne
Seeing Octave Z's new track bike in person would probably be more heart-attack inducing than a bacon smoothie.
Frame: Mercier Kilo TT Black Frameset
Wheels: Velocity B43 White
Crank: Sugino Messenger
Stem + Handlebar: Nitto Pearl 10 Stem + Nitto Handlebar
Saddle: Brooks Red Team Pro NACCC Boston
Nice. Best when viewed in full. More here.
Healthy Hipsters
Haven't touched on my fixie infactuation for a while now, so bike week officially starts now. Or until I run out of resources.
First up, I had to give a shout-out to BMX makers, Subrosa, for creating a slick fixie for the masses. The Malum Fixed model is meticulously designed with attention to detail, including: 100% 4130 chromoly frame, fork, and handlebars. Other features include Shadow Finger Banger grips, integrated headset, Shadow Interlock V2 Chain, 32H double walled alloy rims, 3/8 sealed alloy front track hub, 3/8 sealed alloy rear track hub, alloy cranks with sealed euro bb, 48-16 gearing, and Subrosa Pivotal seat and post. The frame will be a phosphate gray color. $650 shipped.

Silence Television Prints
Godly, is all I can say. Gotta give it up to Silence Television for some extra groovy prints that almost makes me want to invest in a new Wacom Intuos 4.

If you're lovin' Cory Strassburger's and Ming Hsiung's work as much as I did, check out their even more amazing behind the scenes work over here. Definitely impressive stuff, man.

Beauty & Youth Ruck Sack
I never thought I'd say this, but that is a beautiful ruck sack. Too bad it's only sold in Japan (like most things I yearn for in this world), but if you're around the area, please stop by Beauty & Youth and pick one up for me, yeah? Oh, it's so Hypebeastlicious.

Barn Doors
The new house I'm moving into next year has a couple. Should be an interesting change to my usual living experience. I just hope they'll let me paint the door green just like the one seen above in Feldman Architecture's San Francisco homes. More here.

From Scratch, Yo
The packaging design features a transparent tray made from RPET, which acts as a window for all the fresh ingredients. The sleeve around the tray is clear with brand identity and is currently being sold at a few retailers across London including The Grocery in Shoreditch and Selfridges Food Hall. Cheers.
Ready, Set, Take a Stunning Photo
After falling in love with Chris Nguyen's home, I thought I'd ask him how get got his photos looking so natural and wonderful in his latest tour at Unplggd. He kindly answered:
"I actually don't process my photos that much, save for some mild color correction in Photoshop. Finding the best exposure using aperture priority is how I start. Shoot multiple frames in one sitting also helps as you'll be surprised how much a few movements one way or the other can change the feeling of a composition. A must though, at least for me, is shooting in RAW, so that I have the full range of editing capabilities should I need them."There you have it. The take-home message: 1) Shoot in Aperture Priority, 2) Shoot in RAW, and 3) Shoot multiples.

The Fun Minimalist
Who said being minimal had to mean boring? This poster by Hey Studios balances a busy bookshelf backdrop filled with magazines and manuals with - you guessed it - Helvetica on a fun stripey adventure.

Mad Skillz Club Re-Branding
"Always moving forward, constantly changing; an open forum for mad skills exchanged by graduate students for graduate students." Inspired by high-end branding from New York designers, coffee shops, and Japanese marketing masters KIKSTYO, I set out to create a memorable identity that could be used on both print and web.
I'm about 70% there.

Zhou Fan's contemporary abstract pieces are works to behold. Colorful, engaging, and fun, they're the freshest pieces I've come across in a very long time.
