Despite the negative connotations with school life animes as being ineffectively "soft" and lacking any form of depth, Dennou Coil surprised the hell out of me. Introducing "virtual reality" glasses that were to replace the internet some time in the future, the complex story makes use of breathtaking animation, lovable characters, and amazing direction to create one of the most interesting series I have ever seen. 9.6/10.
