Pan's Labyrinth Review

| |

It just recently occurred to me that I never wrote an official review for Pan's Labyrinth, so here it is. This is by far Guillermo del Toro's greatest piece of work - a fairy tale for grown-ups, filled both with sadistic characters and the most innocent. A story that is epic and despite the graphic nature to the film, each shot remains perfected with a purpose and nothing is just pure violence. Some may argue the girl makes a few wrong choices that end up biting her in the ass, but that's just the point - it's a story of a guileless girl that's forced into a world that's clawing with death and terror. Backed by some of the greatest cinematography I have ever seen in a film, it's easily one of the best foreign films out there. 9.4/10.
