It's Bobby Lee Korean Drama Time

I don't know how people ever got into that Korean Full House thing. However, this MadTV parody kind of represents how I feel. And feelings are the best things in the world.

In My Father's Den Review

Absolutely stunning. Having been one of the first major New Zealand fiction films I have seen, I was not sure what to expect with this film. It turns out, despite the muted approach, the film takes you deep into the heart and soul of every single character. It's nearly perfect, every shot, the casting, the literary references - a visual cameo of the best pieces of film stitched together with a blaring Patti Smith chorus in the background. This is one of those films that successfully stays with you after you leave the cinema. I can wholeheartedly recommend it to you. 9.4/10.

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead Review

Like a collective reticulum, Sidney Lumet delivers a multi-layered, brilliantly acted crime noir that is directed like an experimental film, but placed so well together that it glues your eye to the screen until the bittersweet end. Personally, I found some annoying editing, some bad casting, and the ending to be a bit too open-ended, but as the story unfolded, there was nothing really to complain about. It's a little mellow masterpiece that makes you realize how far a bad idea can take you (and not in a good way). 8.1/10.

5 Centimeters Per Second Review

Speak about breathtaking! Accompanied by the best visual direction I have eve seen in an animated feature, this poetic moving piece follows two young lovers maturing through the seasons, realizing sometimes things just don't work out the way we thought they would be. It's a beautiful sorrowful piece, and each frame is polished until the last glimmer of light that makes me roll my eyes at how crappy the usual run-of-the-mill anime looks. It's just one hour, but the wonderful artwork and charming storyline will leave you entranced. 8.7/10.

Across The Universe Review

While there is definitely no shortage of good music here, the presentation itself was a bit awkward for my taste. However, there were enough infusions of creativity, eloquence, and varied interpretations of Beatles songs throughout that I became quite acquainted to its sheer audacity by the end of the movie. 7.6/10.

This American Life: Cat and Mouse

Early last year NPR's "This American Life" did an episode called "Cat and Mouse." It includes interviews the graffiti artists and cops in a continuous game of chase that becomes almost impulsive. An interesting watch to say the least.

Top 5 Reasons To Not Use eBay

I've had it with eBay. I hope the service burns in hell as one of the most hacker-filled, scamming fuck frenzies of all time. And it's not because people are stupid either - it's their bloody retarded system that allows enough "virtual" distance between a buyer and a seller than you could never argue against common sense if it came into your room with two tits flopping out, hair on fire, and wearing ultra-large flare pants. Here at just a few reasons why you should ban eBay from your life.

 1. You can get scammed, even after years of internet experience of dodging spyware, viruses, and internet porn tricks.
 2. You can get scammed, 3-6 months down the line because the buyer can request a charge back at any point in time they feel you've thrown away your receipt.
 3. You can get scammed, because once you send them money, they can easily run off with it after emptying out their Paypal account.
 4. You can get scammed, because internet pictures are a dime a dozen, and that Macbook Pro box you just bought may just be a couple of rocks and eBay won't believe you.
 5. You can get scammed, by eBay themselves because they've upped their rates even higher to get those executives rich and fat so that the only money you'll be making is a few dollars after they've deducted 20% from your earnings.

Dennou Coil Review

Despite the negative connotations with school life animes as being ineffectively "soft" and lacking any form of depth, Dennou Coil surprised the hell out of me. Introducing "virtual reality" glasses that were to replace the internet some time in the future, the complex story makes use of breathtaking animation, lovable characters, and amazing direction to create one of the most interesting series I have ever seen. 9.6/10. Download it here.

Introducing The 60% Budget

I have never been much of a saver, but after a few months into the working world, I realized how much of a priority it should be. Income may not always be stable and unexpected things are surely going to happen. Hence, this is why I'll be following the 60% budgeting tip from Getting Rich Slowly. It's simple. It's quick. It's damn effective.

 • 60% to Committed Expenses such as taxes, clothing, basic living expenses, insurance, charity (including tithe), and regular bills (including things like cable).
 • 10% to Retirement.
 • 10% to Irregular Expenses such as vacations, major repair bills, new appliances, etc.
 • 10% to Long-Term Savings/Debt — money set aside for car purchases, home renovations, or to pay down substantial debt loads.
 • 10% for Fun Money to be used for dining out, hobbies, indulgences, etc.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Review

Get your baseball cap ready, an incredible journey with the funnest Japanese girl you'll never meet is about to set sail. Accompanied by incredible backdrops, on par with Spirited Away and Cowboy Bebop, the story flows as fluid and calmly as if from a book. All the while, beautiful piano echoes the themes of friendship, school-life, and death. If you need a sweet kickback movie that's a step up from the flood of crap anime released recently, be sure to check out this one. It's a trip that won't disappoint. 9.5/10.

Devil May Cry 4 (PS3) Review

While level may design may not be its strongest points, the old school RPG elements is what keeps the player coming back for this game and adds (somewhat) to the replayability. Otherwise, it's just a pretty version of the same game you played on the original Playstation. 7.7/10.

Steelcase Leap: No Flak, Super-Stylized Comfort

It's quite difficult finding that perfect chair for the home office. Often times, it takes months of vigorous testing before finding the most comfortable one for one's back. For one, I find the Herman Miller Aerons quite a strange fit and would not recommend it for everybody until you get to give it a test run for at least 30 minutes. Steelcase's Leap soon caught me through a recommended note, and it surely looks like a great contender for my next big chair purchase. That said, anyone interested in a pretty cheap extremely comfortable leather chair?

Sony's HDR-TG1 1080p Handycam: Half-Way There

Finally, technology is catching up to what I'm expecting. Unfortunately, fucking Sony can't get it through their heads that we all hate Memory Stick, so that's all that it supports for now. I'm waiting for Canon to match their model and then we'll get the dices rolling again.
